how do I delete item that are accessed when my screen name is googled?

I pull up a zip file from somewhere on my desktop or from within hostmonster that contains a web site including style sheets. I wonder how to go about taking it from public view. Thanks if you can help.

If one selects a web host like, hostmonster, do they also have to use a registrar for a domain?

A “registrar” is a company that is allowed to issue internet domain names with ICANN. This service is then sold to consumers in the form of an annual registration fee for a particular domain name. See here for more details:

Now, it is a common misconception that when you registar a domain name, you “own” that name. In reality when you pay for a domain name, you pay for the rights to use the name and the service the registrar provides to allow you to manage that domain. The the name is “assigned” to you but only authorized registrars can “manage” domain records with ICANN. When you are the assignee for a domain, you have the right to transfer that name to any other registrar you wish (kind of like your cell number). This is protected by regulations. Beware of registrars (other than the one you registered with) that send you emails or snail mail telling you it’s time to renew. This is an underhanded ploy to get you to transfer the management of your assigned domain(s) to their company. If you get communications from a registrar with a different name than yours, look at the fine print.

Now web hosting is a completely different service that may be offered by the same company that your domain is registered through. There is no requirement that you use the same company for both but it is often easier to manage if you have both services at the same company.

There is actually a third service involved in getting a website up which is your authoritative name server. This is *the* dns server that is designated in your root dns record at ICANN as the authority on requests for your domain. Most people use the same company as the registrar to do this but there is certainly no requirement to use the same company. In fact, it’s possible to set up the root authority record to point to your home server and run your website from that same server. You need to have a static IP address and a router that can do port mapping (most do).

BTW, I use godaddy.com as a registrar which is cheap (under /year with multi-year discounts) and provides a lot of management features. My DNS is served from zoneedit.com which is free for 5 domain names. My web server is run from my house.

T.V. host in a sci-fi/horror movie with green monster legs?

I saw a movie years ago where an evil scientist was capturing people and turning them into monsters. In the beginning of the movie this woman tv host is talking to the main character who got turned into a monster. The only monster I remember is a worm guy who helps the other monsters by digging a tunnel out. At the end of the movie the evil scientist gets thrown in the monster making stuff and the scientist is actually the t.v. host the whole time with green monster legs. Sorry my question is so long I’m trying to be as descriptive as possible.

Switching Hosts..From HOSTMONSTER to YAHOO..Is this a good idea??

I trieedd and tried..And couldnt figure out Hostmonster! I built a site with yahoo YEARS ago..I remember it was fairly easy..or easier than Hostmonster! Do you think this is a good idea? Are do you guys have any other options?

By the way..Im starting an Small business website.
Yeah, I was thinking about switching to Godaddy..But I heard from alot of people that godaddy was hard

What was the “The Host” monster????????

The monster was designed with some specific parameters in mind. The director’s wishes were for it to look like an actual mutated fish-like creature, rather than have a more fantastical design. The monster also needed to be able to run and perform certain acrobatic movements during the film. The creature itself was designed by Chin Wei-chen, the modeling was done by New Zealand-based Weta Workshop and the animatronics were by John Cox’s creature Workshop.

Looking at various web hosts that offer packages including web site builders, Hostmonster says it does, does anybody know what they charge per web page?

Dreamhost and hostmonster features?

Dreamhost on their site says 500mb, Hostmonster on their site says unlimited.

Neither hosts are impressive to me. Thats how I started though and moved on 2-3 months later. So good luck in whatever your choice is!

Who is the fastest web host in terms of download speed?

I want to move my current websites from Hostmonster to some other web host with a better user interface, but more importantly FASTER DOWNLOADS from my sites. Right now Hostmonster tops out at about 500 kb/s (1and1 was like 100 kb/s uggghhhh….) and I need something more.

My sites have 2+ GB files EACH and are meant for download, not streaming.
